When Will the Killing Stop?

I really don’t know what to say any longer. I had to get up this morning to take Corky (formerly known as Zorro) to the vet with my sister. He’s gagging quite a bit, which could be related to the dental surgery he had a few weeks back, but could also be be kennel cough (www.bestfriendspetcare.com/dog_glossary/dog-terms-K.cfm).

Anyhow, getting back to my point… what do my ears hear as I first turn on the news, but another “incident” (love that term) in London, England  (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1533978,00.html). Thank goodness that it wasn’t as bad as 2 weeks ago on July 7th, 2005 when the original blasts went off killing 56 people (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_July_2005_London_bombings).

What struck me most interesting though were the comments that mayor of London made regarding these attacks, citing them as repercussions to Western meddling thanks to the incessant need for fuel (http://english.people.com.cn/200507/21/eng20050721_197404.html). The parallels one can make  to when Ireland was obliged to fight dirty to get England to stop meddling are kind of scary.

It took almost 400 years for the Irish to get what they wanted. I.e.. the freedom to determine their own destiny. How long will it take, and how many more people will die, before America, the new Despot, gets the message?
