A Princess of Mars

A Princess of Mars (Barsoom, #1)A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs

Decided to read the original series after watching the “John Carter” movie, which I felt got unfairly reviewed by critics.

I have to say that there are times that I find reading the protagonist’s first person story to be a bit “irritating”.
Taking into account the average man in this time period, add to the fact that he doesn’t come from money… and his diction just does not match up. It’s just too wordy and analytical at times,  stealing away some of the wonder.

Regretfully, my eReader is in the shop, so I’ll have to wait until it comes back before I can resume his story
